Rumination is absolutely gutting. I get caught thinking about negative things incessantly. I literally say out loud "I'm ruminating again." I can't seem to get this to go away. Done my CBT training and find it difficult to stop this from happening. I also love staying in bed and just checking out. I'm finding a lot of this CBT strategy are just distractions, including meditation. Being social is tough in 2024, at least in my life. I'm single and everybody is married with kids.

Cart before the horse. No understanding of pain, chronic or otherwise. Treat the pain, not the depression. *SMH* Psychiatry thinks they have the answer to everything, but psychiatry at its roots has always been fraud. So it is here. Treating with CBT does nothing for pain. Again, treat the pain and other issues - sleeplessness, depression, etc., will resolve. *She's got the cart before the horse. Treat the pain*

I agree with 90% of what she's saying it is true but I disagree 100% about medication anxiety medication and antidepressants can be very horrendous to get off of and some of the side effects are absolutely devastating to most people that take them and try to get off that is not a myth that is a fact it angers me that therapist and psychiatrist claim that medications can be taken and taken off of in 30 days that is a lie that is not true for everybody 99.9% of people have horrible horrible side effects so tell the truth

I overcame it couple of times over the past 4 years but when I get overwhelmed and stressed it comes back. No medications, just exposing myself slowly to triggers, letting emotions go through and relaxing my body. It took a while though. My last panic attack was in October 2022, and recently I got one driving which made this whole craziness come back and I am terrified to leave house again

i wish i found this helpful discussion when it was uploaded. my VA therapists haven't a clue as to what driving anxiety is and haven't offered any tips on how to combat it. in fact, i was interrupted when telling the story of how i went on the hwy 30miles round trip after avoiding it for 2 yrs, only to be interrupted, have the subject changed, and notes taken about me and my "tangential" account of driving to a doctor's appointment. RUclips is more therapeutic than any VA counselor I have had so far. Too bad I don't live in LA, but thanks to RUclips I can indirectly get therapy from this podcast. Keep it up. You are helping this Veteran with lots of amazingly helpful tips. Also, i can completely relate to the person in the darkened room.

Talk therapy and experts are living in the past. Complex post traumatic stress disorder is almost always at the base of panic disorders - addictions- feelings of worthlessness - perfectionism - hyper vigilant personalities etc. Drugs or medications aren’t the answer either. Learn about CPTSD or read up on ptsd. The difference as an example would be - if a dog bites you and you have a fear of dogs going forward - you have post traumatic stress disorder . If you feel anxious or panic for apparently no reason or if certain things trigger your panic or anxiety and you don’t know why - THAT is Complex ptsd. You do NOT have to relive your traumas or even know exactly why you are feeling these things - instead you can learn about dysregulation - and how your body buries your wounds. Start here on RUclips with The Crappy Childhood Fairy- or Therapy in a nutshell/ if you married or were raised by or even affected by a Narcissist- follow Michele Lee Nieves - no matter how long ago this happened since it’s common for us to seek out narcissistic personalities that re- trigger our childhood pains. I’ve learned SO much more about out my pain through these women than I have with decades of talk therapists. This video never even mentioned any of that!

Lol all the comments are bots. Marijuana doesn't help anxiety, it worsens it. It might seem it's helping but when the depersonalization hits, it hits HARD and randomly. I've been through this many times. CBD isn't some magic cure all, people are trying to peddle their snake oil. Seek the Lord and lay your anxieties on HIM.
